The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the NEP SAARTHI initiative, inviting nominations from higher educational institutions across India for the academic year 2024-25.

To achieve this, UGC seeks collective contributions from key stakeholders, including students. Objectives of NEP SAARTHI
- Create awareness about NEP 2020 initiatives among students
- Encourage student participation in implementing NEP 2020
- Establish a feedback mechanism for UGC

Becoming a NEP SAARTHI
Higher educational institutions will nominate NEP SAARTHIs based on merits, considering factors like:
- Outstanding personality
- Good communication skills
- Organizational capabilities
- Creativity
- Sense of responsibility
- Team leadership skills

Nomination Process and Criteria
- UGC will seek nominations from HEI heads
- HEIs will nominate SAARTHIs based on merits and criteria
- The nomination submission window is open throughout the year
- UGC announces new SAARTHIs half-yearly (January-June, July-December)
Based on the Total No. of Enrolled Students:

| 1 | ≤2500 | 3 |
| 2 | >2500 and ≤5000 | 6 |
| 3 | >5000 and ≤10,000 | 9 |
| 4 | >10,000 | 12 |

Responsibilities of NEP SAARTHIs
- Promote NEP 2020 as ambassadors
- Conduct awareness drives and organize activities
- Disseminate information through various channels
- Establish meaningful dialogue among students, faculty, and administrators
- Prepare brief notes on NEP initiatives
Recognition and Monitoring

Institutions must log in to utsah.ugc.ac.in, fill up the nomination form, and nominate SAARTHIs.
