Experts Weigh In
Experts say the key reason for CBSE students’ superior performance is their economically better backgrounds, focus on entrance tests, and access to comprehensive coaching. “CBSE students enjoy the privilege of tuition and coaching from the early days. The schools and colleges, too, teach them with entrance exams in focus,” said AH Ningegowda, president, of Karnataka State PU College Lecturers’ Association.
Government Initiative
The Karnataka government plans to introduce online coaching for government PU college students to enhance performance in competitive exams. “A few government PU colleges are taking their own initiatives to coach interested students,” said Ningegowda.
Challenges Faced by State Board Students
- Many of my friends from state board schools struggle to cope with the syllabus and exam pattern.
- They often lack access to quality coaching and resources, making it harder for them to compete.
- I feel that state board students are at a disadvantage due to the differences in syllabus and teaching methods.
Importance of Coaching and Resources
- Coaching and resources play a huge role in determining a student’s success in competitive exams.
- CBSE students like me have an edge due to the emphasis on entrance exam coaching from an early stage.
- I believe that equal access to quality resources and coaching can level the playing field for state board students.
Hope for Change
- I’m glad to hear that the Karnataka government is introducing online coaching for government PU college students.
- I hope this initiative will help bridge the gap between CBSE and state board students.
- I believe that with equal opportunities, state board students can perform just as well as CBSE students.
