Key Points of the PARAKH Assessment Model
- Inclusion of Class 9-11 marks in Class 12 results
- Weightage allocation: 15% for Class 9, 20% for Class 10, 25% for Class 11, and 40% for Class 12
- Score division: formative and summative assessments in Classes 9-12
- Mandatory vocational and skill-based subjects
- Emphasis on school infrastructure and teachers’ performance
- Assessments measured in terms of credits

Standardizing Assessments Nationwide
PARAKH’s proposal aims to bring uniformity to board evaluations, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of students’ performance. By including marks from Classes 9-11, the model provides a broader perspective on students’ academic journey.
Their are majority of students did not take their studies in the 9th and 11th classes seriously so it is a good step to alert them to consistence discipline for their studies. This step does not provide them the benefits and development of good habits till the 12th class but also for the long term.
