Recently, the University Grants Commission issued an SOP for Delhi Central Universities to ensure the aspirants that all the UG and PG seats are filled. After the competition of the regular admission rounds, Delhi University filed the vacant seats to the aspirants on the basis of their Class XII marks.
However, the DU Class XII marks admission process will fill the leftover seats of UG and PG. In 2023, approximately 5000 seats at Delhi Universities were vacant so the authorities initiated the DU Class XII marks admission process as there are multiple methods to fill all seats.

Furthermore, if the seats at DU remain vacant after the completion of the regular admission round, the universities can conduct entrance exams for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by UGC.

Although, the 2024-2025 admission process of DU is underway. Delhi University is offering over 71,000 seats across more than 65 colleges through the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG).
