NEET PG 2024

The Supreme Court of India is set to hear a crucial petition today regarding the normalization and tie-breaking criteria for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 exam. A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud will preside over the hearing, addressing concerns raised by candidates who appeared for the exam.

Concerns Over Transparency and Normalization

Candidates have expressed concerns about the transparency of results and the normalization process followed by the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The petition, submitted on September 7, demands the release of the NEET PG answer key, response sheets, raw and pre-normalized scores, and normalized results of all shifts.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Format

This year, the NEET PG exam was conducted in two shifts, deviating from the usual single-shift format. The exam took place on August 11, with the first shift from 9 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. The NBEMS adopted a normalization process to ensure fairness, using a method similar to AIIMS-New Delhi’s INI-CET examinations.
