Hey students! CBSE Internal Assessment Framework is on its way!

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is taking significant steps to ensure consistency and transparency in internal assessments for Science subjects in classes 6-12. In collaboration with the British Council, CBSE is developing a framework to address inconsistencies and potential inflation of marks in internal assessments. This initiative aims to promote fairness and equity in educational outcomes.

The Aim of the CBSE Internal Assessment Framework

  • Benchmarking and reviewing standards for internal assessments
  • Capacity-building workshops for school leaders and coordinators
  • Installation of CCTV cameras in classrooms to monitor exams
  • Creation of a data bank at CBSE headquarters for exam recordings

This framework will initiate from the 2025 examination onwards! As per the project, it will start with a pilot project in at least 30% of exam centers. However, this move to enhance the quality of education of students is a step toward the growth and development of the country.

In addition to the framework, CBSE has also announced the setting up of ‘Composite Skill Labs’ in schools to enhance skill education. Schools are advised to set up either one Composite Skill Lab of 600 sq ft area for classes 6-12 or two separate labs of 400 sq ft each.

Installing CCTV Cameras to Monitor!

During the examination process and to promote consistency and transparency in education, CBSE decided to implement CCTV surveillance in classrooms during board exams in order to ensure real-time monitoring and a central data bank for storing CCTV recordings.
